India’s PV Sindhu quelled a strong challenge from Indonesia’s Gregoria Mariska Tunjung to enter the women’s singles second round of the French Open Super 750 badminton tournament here on Tuesday.

Sindhu prevailed over Tunjung 12-21, 21-18, 21-15 after 69 minutes of intense contest. Earlier, newly-crowned World No. 1 pairing of Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty stormed into the men’s doubles second round.
