Writer Shobhaa De was caught in the eye of a storm after her recent Twitter comment on Indian athletes faring badly at the Rio Olympics 2016.

The Indian contingent have been struggling to find a way to win a medal at the Olympics with gymnast Dipa Karmakar being the only one to give an exceptional performance by entering into the final.
The columnist went on to take a dig at Indian athletes by posting this tweet: 'Goal of Team India at the Olympics: Rio jao. Selfies lo. Khaali haat wapas aao. What a waste of money and opportunity'.

Needless to say, Twitterati were not so amused and lashed out at her within no time with Abhinav Bindra, who failed to bag a medal after finishing fourth, and India's former hockey captain Viren Rasquinha leading the way with fitting responses.
