Unseasonal showers played spoilsport, forcing cancellation of the latter half of the race card here yesterday.

The first three races of Friday's eight-race card were run in bright sunlight before a sudden change in atmosphere was caused by cool breeze blowing across the vast expanse of the racecourse just before the fourth race which was won by the Narendra Lagad-trained Majestic warrior (P S Kaviraj up) in a successful wire to wire bid. Soon after the winner was led in and all horses weighed in, it started raining heavily.
The rains continued without a let up, delaying proceedings for the fifth race. After waiting for nearly half an hour, the stewards decided to cancel the remaining four races.
