American golf sensation Paige Spiranac has come to the defence of Tiger Woods over his cheating scandal ahead of the release of an explosive documentary on his life. A two-part film about Woods's life called Tiger will air on HBO this Sunday.'

According to British tabloid, The Sun, Woods's reputation took a beating in 2009 when Rachel Uchitel was named as one of the 12 mistresses in his life. The scandal led to his public split with then wife Elin Nordegren, with whom he has two kids.

Spiranac believes  Woods was treated too harshly by people post the scandal. Speaking on her podcast, Playing-A Round, Spiranac said: “Even when all this [scandal] was happening, people were being too hard on him. You look at your own life and the things you've done, no one lives a perfect life, we all make mistakes. It's not like he killed someone, he cheated. A lot of people cheat in their lifetime. Probably 99.9 per cent of people have done something bad in their life."
