She feels that though it is not easy to be strong and there are days when she struggles to cope with the death of the Los Angeles Lakers player Kobe and their daughter Gianna, who died in a fatal helicopter crash in January 2020. “I can’t say that I’m strong every day. I can’t say that there aren’t days where I feel like I can’t survive to the next,” Vanessa told People magazine.
When she is unable to overcome the loss, she thinks of her departed loved-ones and three children, Natalia, 18, Bianka, four, and Capri, one, to give her strength. “I guess the best way to describe it is that Kobe and Gigi motivate me to keep going. They inspire me to try harder and be better every day. Their love is unconditional and they motivate me in so many different way. This pain is unimaginable [but] you just have to get up and push forward,” she remarked.
