Mumbai Division clinched the U-14 girls State Handball School Championship after Garodia International School (Ghatkopar) beat Pune Division team Bhekrai Mata School 18-9 in the summit clash at GN Khalsa College ground (Matunga) on Saturday.

Garodia dominated the first-half of the match, leading 12-5. However, post break, the Ghatkopar school preferred to play a bit defensive as they leaked four consecutive goals.
Pune school fights back
Alarmed by Pune school's aggression, Garodia switched gears immediately, scoring six goals in three minutes to win the match 18-9. Krishi Sontonua found the net 10 times while her teammate Mishti Raveshia scored three goals. Risa Ganatra and Aarya Nagrecha scored one goal each.
For Bhekrai Mata School, Samrudhi Sawant was the highest scorer with five goals while Dhaneshree Hamalu scored three goals. Tanushree Nedate scored one goal. Krishi was ecstatic after helping her school qualify for the national event now.
"Their defense was weak. We attacked from the beginning. I am glad I could help my team win the final," said Krishi.
