Cathedral & John Connon last won the U-16 Division I title in 2006. The Fort outfit dominated the first half, but the strong defence of Dhirubhai Ambani made no errors to end the first half goalless.

After the break, Cathedral & John Connon continued to attack and got a lead through Devangi scoring from a loose ball inside the box of a free kick from Shamika Bhandarkar in the 39th minute to end the match 1-0.

The 14-year-old was representing the U-16 Cathedral & John Connon team for the first time. "We tried hard to score in the first half, we knew our opponents were better in penalty shoot-outs and did not want to end up playing in the tie-breaker, so we kept attacking and eventually we succeeded," said Devangi.

Cathedral & John Connon came second place last year, losing 0-2 to Dhirubhai Ambani. Meanwhile, Karen Pais scored both the goals for Mary Immaculate Girls (Borivli) in the MSSA Division II final against JB Petit Girls (Fort). Mary Immaculate won 2-0. Both teams have been promoted to U-16 Division I.
