The seven-member Indian female wrestling contingent here is all set to meet its target of at least half a dozen medals at the CWG. Minutes after Geeta Kumari took gold in the 51kg event, Nirmala Devi won silver in the 48kg category. Later in the evening, a third grappler Suman Kundu won the bronze medal in the 63 Kg category.
Nirmala Devi was not too happy after her second-place show. "I knew I would be meeting the Canadian (Carol Huynh) in the final, but I got a bit nervous," she said.
Suman Kundu hoped her bronze would be a stepping stone to bigger achievements. "I'm eyeing a gold medal at the Asian Games in Guangzhou next month," said Kundu.
