London: Five-time Wimbledon champion Venus Williams may have suffered a shock third-round defeat against sixth seed Petra Kvitova on late Friday night, but the American said the gruelling three-setter was a great learning lesson.

"When you lose there's so much more to learn from the situation. For me to be able to play that well having hardly played any matches (recently) is good. I think I will just keep improving," Williams said after her 5-7, 7-6 (2), 7-5 loss.
"I think this was a great match for me. I will look forward to playing lot more tournaments in the summer," she added, giving a clear indication that she is no quitter.
