John Cena defeated AJ Styles for the WWE title at Royal Rumble and returned to SmackDown Live as a 16-time champion. Bray Wyatt and Randy Orton interrupted Cena. Bray told Cena he would be trapped like a rat at Elimination Chamber, while Randy Orton said he would wait for Cena at WrestleMania 33 if he still was champion.
As the two came to attack Cena, Luke Harper appeared to make the save and they were then put in a match by Shane McMahon. After Harper attacked Randy Orton, Bray Wyatt laid him out with Sister Abigail. Meanwhile Randy orton hit John Cena with the RKO to win the match.
James Ellsworth helped his friend Carmella pick a victory in her match. Dolph Ziggler faced Kalisto in a match and won after the superkick. As Ziggler tried to take of Kalisto's mask Apollo Crews saved him.
Alexa Bliss and Mickey James faced Becky Lynch and Naomi. After the match swinging both sides, Naomi pinned the SmackDown Live women's champ Alexa Bliss, just as she did at Royal Rumble.
AJ Styles faced Dean Ambrose with The Miz on commentary. Baron Corbin came out during the match and sat at the announcers' table. The Miz and Corbin then exchanged blows with Dean Ambrose joining in. Later, AJ Styles used that to his advantage and hit the Styles clash to pick the win. Ambrose was later hit with Skull Crushing finale by the Miz and the End of Days by Baron Corbin.
