American 17th seed Sam Querrey reached his first US Open quarter-final on Sunday with a 6-2, 6-2, 6-1 win over 23rd-seeded Mischa Zverev of Germany.
Querrey, a semi-finalist at Wimbledon in July, will face South Africa's 23rd-seeded Kevin Anderson for a place in the semi-finals.
Querrey defeated Anderson in the fourth round at Wimbledon but Anderson gained revenge at the Montreal Masters last month.
On Sunday, Querrey, 29, fired 18 aces, 55 winners and committed just eight unforced errors, winning in just 77 minutes.
