Uncle's Kitchen United won the five-a-side football tournament held during the inauguration of Homeground, a multi-sport facility at Thakur Stadium in Kandivali (E) yesterday.

The facility was inaugurated by former India football captain Baichung Bhutia and Western India Football Association (WIFA) CEO Henry Menezes. The venue offers training facilities in football, cricket, volleyball and tennis.

In the football final, Malad-based UK United beat Total Sports 1-0. The lone goal came from eventual Man of the Tournament Patrick Thomas.

Daniel Fernandes of UK United was highest scorer with seven goals. Bhutia and Menezez handed the winner's cheque of Rs 11,000 to UK United.
