But now comes the even more difficult part. The grappler now has to live up to the expectations of the entire nation that is hoping that the 26-year-old returns from Rio Olympics with a gold in his 74kg freestyle category.
Narsingh Yadav
All doubts about Narsingh's participation in the Rio Olympics were put to rest after the Mumbai-based grappler was cleared of doping charges by National Anti-Doping Agency (NADA) on Monday.
Both WFI and NADA will now write to the United World Wrestling (UWW), International Olympic Committee (IOC) as well as World Anti Doping Agency (WADA), to pave the way for Narsingh's entry into the Rio Games, starting August 5.
NADA will on its part also write to the IOC and the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) that the wrestler has been given a clean chit.
Narsingh, who bagged the quota with a bronze medal finish in last year's World Championships, first returned positive for a banned steroid after a dope test conducted by the NADA on June 25.
Twitterati reacted with joy at the news of Narsingh getting a clean chit.
