Former Olympic gold medal-winning swimmer Stephanie Rice, 30, will appear on Channel Ten TV show Disgrace! which focuses on how public figures handle and bounce back from major scandals.

In 2010, Rice lost a lucrative sponsorship deal after posting a gay tweet. Stephanie tweeted "Suck on that f***ots" when Australia's rugby union team, the Wallabies, defeated South Africa's Springboks. Later, luxury car maker Jaguar dropped Rice as their brand ambassador even after Rice apologised and removed the comment.

"I owe it to those who I have offended to publicly say, I am sorry. It is not me to give offence to other people no matter who they are. I am not a person who judges others or speaks in a way that hurts others. My comments were thoughtless and careless but I can assure you when I made those comments on Twitter I never intended to offend anybody," Rice told British tabloid, The Daily Mail.
