Spain retained the Davis Cup after Fernando Verdasco and Feliciano Lopez won Saturday's doubles tie o give the hosts a 3-0 lead over the Czech Republic.
The Spanish pair overcame Radek Stepanek and Tomas Berdych, who had never been defeated in five previous Davis Cup doubles ties, 7-6, 7-5, 6-2. In Friday's singles, World No 2 Rafael Nadal beat Berdych 7-5, 6-0, 6-2 while David Ferrer beat Stepanek 1-6, 2-6, 6-4, 6-4, 8-6.
