Defending champions ONGC (Oil & Natural Gas Corporation) beat Maharashtra 63-59 in the opening men's league match of the 10th Savio Cup All-India basketball tourney for men and women, sponsored by United Phosphorous and co-sponsored by Tridhaatu Realty Infra, at Don Bosco, Matunga yesterday

Trideep Rai (16 points) and M Anoop (15 pts) played key roles for ONGC while Maharashtra's Siddhant Shinde and Amit Gahlot, both scored 12 points each.
