Riya Arolkar wins four district badminton titles

After winning the women's singles title on Saturday, yesterday Riya Arolkar came back to win the U-17 girls' singles, U-17 doubles and U-19 singles crowns in the Servo Greater Mumbai district badminton championship jointly organised by Jitesh Padukone Shuttlers' Academy and North Indian Association (NIA)

After winning the women's singles title on Saturday, yesterday Riya Arolkar came back to win the U-17 girls' singles, U-17 doubles and U-19 singles crowns in the Servo Greater Mumbai district badminton championship jointly organised by Jitesh Padukone Shuttlers' Academy and North Indian Association (NIA).

In the U-17 singles final, Riya, a student of Jai Hind college, comfortably beat Rudra Rane 21-13, 21-12 and in the doubles, she teamed up with Hrissha Dubey to overcome Rudra Rane and Saniya Shivalkar 21-11, 19-21, 22-20 at the NIA badminton courts.

In the women's and girls' U-19 finals, Riya beat same opponent Kareena Madan 21-12, 21-16 and 21-15, 21-19 respectively to emerge victorious.
