The 14-day sporting fest, starting April 3 at Patiala, 70 km from here, will see the teams and players vying for top honours and Rs.one crore (Rs.10 million) in prize money.

He said that nine teams from Britain, the US, Canada, Pakistan, Iran, Australia, Italy, Spain and host country India had already sent their consent to participate in this tournament.

The opening match of the tournament will be held in Patiala while the closing ceremony will be held April 15 in Ludhiana.

The remaining matches would be played in Patiala (April 3-4), Sangrur (April 5), Muktsar (April 7), Bathinda (April 8), Amritsar (April 10), Hoshiarpur (April 11 ) and Jalandhar (April 12).

The first and second runners-up will get Rs.51 lakh and Rs.25 lakh respectively.
