Pune shoot down Kolhapur DFA to clinch boys title

Pune DFA beat Kolhapur DFA 4-3 in the tie-breaker to lift the boys title in the OORJA-CAPFs U-19 Football Talent Hunt 2017, played for the Olympian SS Narayan Trophy, here yesterday.


All the goals were scored in the tiebreaker after the teams were locked 0-0 at full time.


In tie-breaker, Pune won 4-3 with Edwin Faleiro Vicky Poojary, Chris Unnithan and Ryaan Sachin finding the mark. Pawan Mali, Shivaji Shinde and Pradeep Patil scored for the losers, while Nitant Karne and Ruturaj Sanklap missed.


In the third place match, Mumbai DFA trounced Nagpur DFA 5-0.

Meanwhile, Karen Pais scored a hat-trick to help Mumbai DFA beat School Games Federation of India-1 3-2 to win girls’ final.
