Parsee Gymkhana nailed it on Sunday when they won their maiden Talim Shield limited overs tournament by beating New Hind SC by 129 runs at the MIG Cricket Club.
The Marine Drive Gymkhana side were well-served by Bravish Shetty's explosive 186 off 139 deliveries, laced with 20 boundaries and six sixes. Aided also by Mumbai Ranji Trophy player Suryakumar Yadav's 61 and Arjun Shetty's 33-ball unbeaten 59, the Gymkhana plundered 360-5 in 41 overs which was always going to be a hurdle for New Hind.
They were bundled out for 231 in 40.3 overs with Sagar Mishra top scoring with 66 while Akshay Jambhekar contributed an unbeaten 45. For Parsee Gymkhana, medium pacer Shivam Malhotra bowled impeccably and grabbed 3-36 in his eight-over spell. He was well supported by skipper Raunaq Sharma who snapped up 3-44 in his nine overs with his leg-spin.
