He is a double Olympic medallist and has fought Narsingh Yadav in court for a chance to represent India in the 2016 Rio Olympics, but when the latter got a clean chit from NADA on Monday, Sushil was one of the first to take to Twitter to welcome the decision.

Sushil took to the social media platform to welcome the National Anti-Doping Agency's decision to exonerate Narsingh and appealed to the grappler to win a medal for both the country and him at the Rio Games.
Sushil and Narsingh were recently locked in a bitter legal battle as to who would represent the country in the 74kg category. Narsingh won the quota place while Sushil wanted a trial.

Narsingh had earned India a quota for the Rio Olympics by winning a bronze at the World Championships in Las Vegas last year and was selected by the Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) to go for the Games. However, Sushil had then gone to court seeking a selection trial for the 74 kg Olympic spot. A lower court ruled in favour of Narsingh and Sushil did not approach the Supreme Court thereafter.
India's most decorated Olympic wrestler had only last week refused to be dragged into the controversy and slammed conspiracy theorists who claimed that Narsingh enjoyed police protection and had a coterie of coaches around him leaving no scope for sabotage.
"This is sheer irresponsibility on the part of Narsingh. How can anyone believe that my supporters or me are behind this? If I enjoyed that kind of support, would the court and the WFI not have approved my request for a selection trial in the first place? And if I was stubborn or selfish then would I not have approached the Supreme Court with my request for the trial," the 33-year-old senior grappler had told mid-day from New Delhi last week.
"Bahot Khushi ki baat hain. Mera support pahle bhi thaa, aaj bhi bhain aur kal bhi rahega. (It's a great news. My support was there earlier also, even today and will remain tomorrow). Go win for me and the country," the legendary Olympian tweeted.
He also lamented that wrestling in the past few months went through this tumultuous phase.
"Very unfortunate 2 see the Wrestling go through this. I hv given my life to ot (sic) & wl always support fellow wrestlers," Sushil stated in the micro-blogging site.
