It was a unique practice session for Don Bosco's (Matunga) U-14 Div-I football team at their school ground yesterday. Instead of tackling and passes, they spent time aiming at the goal for their tie-breaker finale against St Stanislaus (Bandra) at Azad Maidan today.

The final, which was played on October 26, ended 0-0 at the end of regulation time and the tie-breaker could not be played due to bad light.
It was decided that the shoot-out would take place on October 27, but both teams refused to play the tie-breaker since they wanted to be declared joint-winners.
However, Mumbai Schools Sports Association (MSSA) have never awarded joint-winners in the history of inter-school football. Hence, today is shoot-out day.
Don Bosco coach Leslie Machado said, "We have practiced penalty shoots. Each player took about six to seven shots and the boys have put in a lot of effort since it is a different situation. We were ready for a re-match but our opponents were reluctant. In any case, we are going to give off our best."
Don Bosco's opponents St Stanislaus, however, didn't get a chance to train. "Our boys had an exam today. I just hope the weather is pleasant and not too sunny because prior to the shoot-out, we have a game at 9.30 am at Azad Maidan so we are hoping for the best," St Stanislaus coach Jaywant Pathak said.
