St Andrews (Scotland): Two weeks before his 28th birthday last month, Anirban Lahiri noticed a few strands of white hairs in his sideburns and felt he was aging ahead of his years.

Yesterday afternoon after delivering his card of even par 72 in the final round of the 144th Open Championships at St Andrews, he chuckled as he revealed the incident and said that he had indeed grown and learnt a lot over last four months.

Lahiri laughed and said: "February this year was the best month for me as a professional golfer (winning Malaysian Open and Hero Indian Open) and in the period since then April-May-June-July, I may have aged as such as three years and hence a few white hairs. I have played a lot on different course, played in new events in US and Europe."

Lahiri finished with rounds of 69-70-71-72 at six-under 282 and at tied-31 he equaled his previous best at the Open in 2012.

From the 13th, Lahiri suddenly started getting into the fairway bunkers and each time he did he lost a shot. His card quickly showed a bunch of bogeys on 13th and then three in a row from 15th to 17th, before his first birdie of the week on the 18th brought back the smile on his face.
