Banga Beats made a stylish exit from the Indian Badminton League last night with a stunning 3-2 win over the Hyderabad Hotshots at the Gachibowli Stadium

Hyderabad’s Tanongsak first won his men’s singles tie against P Kashyap 21-20, 21-18 after which another Hotshot Saina Nehwal beat Tai Tzu Ying 21-17, 14-21, 11-8 in the ladies singles event. But Banga fought back hereafter.


Banga’s Carsten Mogensen and Akshay Dewalkar first beat Hyderabad’s V Shem Goh and Khim Wah Lim in the men’s doubles 15-21, 21-15, 11-1.


Then, in the second men’s singles tie, Banga’s Jan Jorgensen thumped Ajay Jayaram of Hyderabad 21-11, 21-8 to level the match at 2-2.


In the deciding mixed doubles encounter, Carsten Mogensen and Aparna Balan of Banga Beats beat Tarun Kona and Pradnya Gadre of Hyderabad 8-21, 21-16, 11-9 to give the Banga Beats a 3-2 win.

Today, Hyderabad will face Pune in the first semi-final. The other two semi-finalists are Mumbai Masters and Awadhe Warriors.
