Jockey Trevor Patel excelled in the saddle yesterday; he rode all his four mounts to victory during the evening card at the Mahalaxmi racetrack. The ace jockey, who is having a great season after his return from Australia, took is tally to 23 wins from 71 starts, logging in an excellent strike rate of 32 percent. With yesterday's super show, Trevor has consolidated his position at the top of the jockeys' tally with a huge lead of 10 points over his nearest rival Neeraj Rawal who could score only one win from his five mounts.
Quick quadruple
Trevor began his day in the third race with the Imtiaz Sait-trained New England who, as expected, mocked his rivals when winning the feature event of the day, the Mathradas Goculdas Trophy. He later steered the Faisal Abbas-trained Clymene (13/10) to a facile victory of over five lengths in the upper division of the Star Crowned Plate; also winning the lower division of the same race astride Wilshire (5-to-2) trained by SK Sunderji. Between these two races, he also bagged the Captain G Hall Trophy with Brothersofthewind (11-to-10) saddled by trainer Vinesh. Trevor's fans, who had the foresight to roll their money on all his four mounts on the card, were paid at the odds of over 50-to1.
