Northern Ireland golfer McIlroy to stop consuming red wine, dark chocolate, burgers, fries and beer to get healthier; admits current diet in disarray
Former World No. 1 golfer Rory McIlroy has decided to quit junk food, especially burgers, chips and lager Stella Artois (Belgium beer) in his bid to get healthy as he bids for his first win of the season at the British Masters. Apparently, since his wife Erica is a brilliant cook, his attempts to lose weight were hampered. "I would be the first one to say, my diet probably hasn't been the best over the past year and a half. When you travel a lot you're always eating out at restaurants and sometimes you don't make the best choices. Like a dog, whatever you put in front of me, it's going to be eaten," he told British tabloid, The Sun. About his weakness, McIlroy said, "Red wine, dark chocolate, burgers, fries, Stella, everything. Baking's her [Erica's] thing. The only thing we watch in our house at the moment is The Great British Bake Off," he added.

McIlroy emphasised that he is looking forward to make a healthy choice. "I'm looking forward to just getting myself right, getting myself healthy. Once you get into a routine and just make 'healthy' eating a habit, it's much easier to make good choices," he added.
