Paris: Swiss tennis player Roger Federer advanced to the men's singles third round of Roland Garros after beating Spain's Marcel Granollers 6-2, 7-6(1), 6-3.

After qualifying for the third round of the French Open, the second Grand Slam tournament of the season, Federer, ranked third in the world, said that the match was harder than it looked, reports Efe.

Stan Wawrinka qualified for the third round of Roland Garros after defeating Serbia's Dusan Lajovic 6-3, 6-4, 5-7, 6-3.
Wawrinka, ranked 8th in the world, will be now playing the third round against the winner of the clash between Ukraine's Sergiy Stakhovsky and American Steve Johnson, reports Efe.
If things go well for Wawrinka, he will face his compatriot Roger Federer in the quarter-finals of the classy tournament.
