Former hockey player and ex-staff member of the Mumbai Hockey Association Ltd (MHAL) Nicholas D'Souza passed away on Saturday morning after a brief illness

Former hockey player and ex-staff member of the Mumbai Hockey Association Ltd (MHAL) Nicholas D'Souza passed away on Saturday morning after a brief illness.

He was 58 and is survived by his wife Philomena, daughters Angela and Eliza and hockey-playing sons Peter (Air India) and Boon (Central Railway).

Nicky represented Young Sports, Bombay Republicans, Punjab Sports and Western Railway and later served MHAL for over two decades. His funeral took place on Saturday at St Peter's Cemetery, Haines Road, Mahalaxmi.
