Ayaan Desai and Meherzad Sukheshwala scored a goal each to help Bombay Scottish (Mahim) register a 2-0 win over St Pius (Mulund) in the Division IIâÂÂu00c2u0080ÂÂu00c2u0088final of the Mumbai Schools Sports Association (MSSA)-organised inter-school under-16 football tournament at Cooperage Stadium on Saturday.
After a goalless first half, the Mahim outfit came back stronger in the second. Striker Ayaan netted the first goal after receiving a through ball from Joshua Jesuratnam in the 35th minute and 19 minutes later, it was midfielder Meherzad who scored the winner for the Mahim team.
"I am proud that my boys have not conceded a single goal throughout the tournament," said Bombay Scottish coach Anthony Fernandes.
Meanwhile, in the third-place tie, Don Bosco 'B' (Matunga) beat St Lawrence (Borivli) 2-1. Kush Sampat and Atharva Jadhav were on target for Bosco, while, Rishikesh Thakur pulled one back for the Borivli side.
