Newcastle (Northern Ireland): All the three Indians missed the halfway cut even as some of the big names including World No. 1 Rory McIlroy were also set for an early exit from the Dubai Duty Free Irish Open here today.

After a tough first round outing, Indian trio of Anirban Lahiri, Shiv Kapur and Jeev Milkha Singh, faltered in the second round and exited early.

Lahiri in 46th place seemed to be in with a chance, but his second round of five-over 76 with six bogeys and just one birdie saw him finish at seven-over 149.

Kapur, who had a horrible five-hole stretch with four bogeys and one double in first round, had two doubles in second round. Jeev with seven bogeys against two birdies in first round, failed to find a single birdie on second day as he shot six bogeys.

The Indians were not alone in their misery as Sergio Garcia (75-79), Victor Dubuisson (74-84), defending champion Mikko Ilonen (75-77) also went back home early.

McIlroy after a round of 80 on first was even par for three holes in second round.

Leading the field were Austrian Bernd Wiesberger (72¿67) and Richie Ramsay (72-67) at three-under for 36 holes in an event where scoring has been tough.

Soren Kjeldsen (69 and one-under through 2 holes) was also at three-under.

Thee-time Major winner and 2007 Irish Open winner and local, Padraig Harrington added a second round 73 to his first round 67 to be currently tied fourth at two-under 140.
