Ryan Giggs' protracted £40 million divorce from estranged wife Stacey Cooke will reach its conclusion when she is granted a decree nisi today.
The former Manchester United and Wales midfielder, 43, has been locked in a lengthy court battle with Stacey, 39, over a share of his fortune.
Giggs' turbulent seven-year marriage to Stacey, with whom he shares two children, Liberty, 13, and Zachary, 10, had previously weathered damaging storms, including his eight-year affair with younger brother Rhodri's wife, Natasha Lever.
He also cheated on Stacey with Big Brother star Imogen Thomas, 34. He and Stacey finally split in April last year after he was linked with a PR executive.
"Mrs Giggs' primary focus is wanting to bring this sensitive and difficult process to a close as swiftly and amicably as possible and enable her family to move on," said James Brown, who is part of Stacey's legal team.
