The Sunil Chhetri-led Indian team suffered their second successive defeat at the AFC Asian Cup here, going down 0-3 to Uzbekistan at the Ahmad bin Ali 
Stadium here on Thursday.

India had lost their opening encounter 0-2 to 2015 champions Australia. This defeat has hampered India’s prospects of progressing to the next stage of the competition. 


Uzbekistan were brilliant in their attack and took the Indian defence apart in the first half itself, scoring as many as three goals.  Abbosbek Fayzullayev (4th minute), Igor Sergeev  (18th) and Sherzod Nasrulloev (49th) netted a goal each for Uzbekistan.
