London: Manchester United has won the English Football League Cup, defeating Southampton 3-2 at Wembley Stadium in London.
Swedish forward Zlatan Ibrahimovic opened the scoring for Manchester United in the 20th minute with a well-executed free kick from outside the box, Efe news agency reported on Sunday.
In the 38th minute, Jesse Lingard doubled the score for the Red Devils with a neat hit through Maya Yoshida's legs and past Fraser Forster.
Just three minutes before the final whistle, however, Ibrahimovic nailed his second goal of the match, giving Manchester United the win.

The victory secured the second title for the Red Devils under coach Jose Mourinho.
The Portuguese coach led his players to the 2016 FA Community Shield title.
