Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo reportedly paid $375,000 to a woman who accused him of raping her in a Las Vegas hotel room in 2009. It is believed that Ronaldo’s accuser signed a settlement in 2010 on the condition that she would drop all charges against him and never speak about the agreement in public, according to Germany’s Der Spiegel magazine.
The Portuguese forward, once arrested in 2005 on suspicion of sexually assaulting two women in a London penthouse suite, has not spoken publicly of the 2009 incident. However Gestifute, a sports management firm that was founded by his agent Jorge Mendes, issued a statement on Friday and termed the incident as journalistic fiction.
