Paris Mayor Anne Hidalgo promised on Friday that "all rubbish" piling up in the city due to an ongoing strike would be collected, as fans arrive for the Euro 2016 football championships.

Paris Mayor Anne Hidalgo promised on Friday that "all rubbish" piling up in the city due to an ongoing strike would be collected, as fans arrive for the Euro 2016 football championships.


"Of course, all the rubbish will be collected ... it is already being collected today," Hidalgo told French TV, with less than 12 hours to go until the start of Europe's showcase tournament.
