Madrid: Forward Cristiano Ronaldo was not able to close in on 100 European goals, but proved instrumental in putting Real Madrid on course for another victory with a 5-1 win over Legia Warsaw at the Bernabeu on Tuesday.
The Portuguese
endured a frustrating night as he failed to get on the score sheet and Real manager Zinedine Zidane said he expects more from his talisman forward. "It's true that we sometimes expect a lot from Cristiano, three or four goals. We all want him to score and he does too," Zidane said.
"He created chances, but couldn't score. However, what I care about is that today he provided goals and scored last weekend. I like it when he lays on goals, too. That is part of his game. We are always going to demand and expect a lot from him, because he is Cristiano and he knows that."

The Frenchman believes there is plenty more to come from his side in the coming matches. Wales forward Gareth Bale opened the scoring after 16 minutes before an own goal from Tomasz Jodlowiec double the lead.
Miroslav Radovic had briefly reduced the arrears from the penalty spot on 22 minutes, but there was no way back once Marco Asensio added a third before substitutes Lucas Vazquez and Alvaro Morata completed the rout in the second half.
"We had many chances and scored five goals, so yes I am happy with the offensive performance. We can always improve. We risked a bit, but the good thing is we have offensively created many chances.
"Next it will be another game, with another option and other players. Today the important thing was to win."
