Later, riding on Rohit Sharma's 52, the Blues won the match by 8 wickets
In the T20 World Cup 2024 match against arch-rivals Pakistan, Team India was bowled out for 119 runs, thanks to Rishabh Pant's 42-run knock. Later, while defending Jasprit Bumrah claimed three important wickets, following which the "Green Shirts" only managed to reach 113 runs in 20 overs
In their third match against the USA, the debutant posted 110 runs on board against the Indians. Left-arm pacer Arshdeep Singh registered a four-wicket haul for just 9 runs. In the second innings, premier batsman Suryakumar Yadav scored an unbeaten 50 runs and helped the side win the match by 7 wickets
The "Men in Blue" did not play the match against Canada due to the wet outfield. With the previous wins, India qualified for the Super 8 stage
The first team they faced in the Super 8 stage was Afghanistan. In that match, Suryakumar Yadav and Hardik Pandya slammed 53 and 32 runs, respectively. While chasing the target of 182 runs, the Afghans were bowled out for 134 runs. Yet again, Bumrah and Arshdeep were the stars as they registered three wickets each and India won by 47 runs
In the match against Bangladesh, Hardik Pandya played an unbeaten knock of 50 runs and helped the side to post 196. Kuldeep Yadav along with Arshdeep and Bumrah made the chase difficult for the "Bengal Tigers" as they only managed to score 146 for the loss of eight wickets. India defeated Bangladesh by 50 runs
In the nail-biting match against Australia, the Beausejour Stadium witnessed the vintage Rohit Sharma. The Indian captain bashed the Aussies' bowlers for 92 runs off just 41 balls including 7 fours and 8 sixes. The team reached a total of 205. Australia's Travis Head yet again played a big knock against India but failed to take the team home. Bumrah dismissed Head on 76 runs. Arshdeep registered the figures of wickets for 37 runs and India defeated Australia by 24 runs
In the semi-final against England, Rohit smoked 57 runs including 6 fours and 2 sixes, Suryakumar also scored 47 runs as the side managed to post 171 runs on board. None of the English batsmen was able to score big runs as spin-duo Axar Patel and Kuldeep Yadav shared the tally of six wickets between them. The Blues won the match against England by 68 runs
The unbeaten India will now take on unbeaten South Africa in the finals of the T20 World Cup 2024 on June 29
