Sachin Tendulkar recently visited Kashmir with his family. During the trip, the Indian batting great visited a factory in Kashmir which produces Kashmir Willow bats
While having the conversation with the factory workers, Tendulkar mentioned that "mere life ka pehla bat Kashmir willow tha. Yaha se meri badi behen leke aayi thi."
The cricketing expert also mentioned that his favourite bats had 5-6 grains and nowadays people use bats with 11-12 grains. The grains on the bat refer to the vertical lines. The number of vertical lines a cricket bat consists of is considered to be the age of the tree used in producing that specific willow
While inspecting the bat, Tendulkar asked the worker about the tape they already had on the willow's toe. The worker replied, "ladke maangte hai ki toe gaurd laga do" to which the stalwart batsman responded "hum bhi yeh karte thee"
In the end, the great batsman Sachin Tendulkar tested the willow by knocking some balls on it
