Born on November 17, 1982, Yusuf Pathan is a former Indian cricketer who played ODIs and T20Is.
Yusuf's younger brother Irfan Pathan is also an Indian cricketer. Both have played for India in international cricket as well have been main-stays of their teams in IPL.
Yusuf Pathan's father served as the muezzin. Although their parents wished them to become Islamic scholars, Yusuf and his brother Irfan took an interest in cricket.
Yusuf Pathan made his first-class cricket debut in 2001/02. Yusuf is known for his powerful and aggressive strokeplay and he also is an off-break bowler.
Yusuf Pathan played 100 first-class matches and scored 4,825 runs at an average of 34.46 and strike rate of 85.99. He scored 11 hundreds and 20 fifties with a top score of 210*.
Yusuf married Mumbai based physiotherapist Afreen in 2013. On his wedding anniversary, Yusuf Pathan shared a picture along with his wife and captioned it: Happy Anniversary my Love.
Yusuf Pathan's wife Afreen gave birth to their first son Ayaan on April 17, 2014. Two years later, in 2016, Yusuf and Afreen welcomed their second son Riyaan.
After a good domestic season in 2007/08, Yusuf Pathan was signed by the Rajasthan Royals in the Indian Premier League for Rs 1.9 crore.

Many people did not know that On May 15, 2013, Yusuf Pathan became the first batsman to be given out for obstructing the field in Twenty20 cricket while playing for the Kolkata Knight Riders in the IPL 2013 against the Pune Warriors.
At the IPL 2014 season, Yusuf Pathan slammed a 15-ball fifty, the fastest in IPL history, until it was broken by KL Rahul (14) in 2018.
In January 2018, Yusuf Pathan was purchased by Sunrisers Hyderabad and was with the team until 2019. In 2020, SRH released Yusuf Pathan.
