When asked about the preparations for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, Team India lead pacer and stand-in captain Jasprit Bumrah said, "We are prepared. We came in early and trained at the WACA. When we came here for the first time, we did well so the onus is on the youngsters to take up the responsibility as well. Beauty of cricket is that if you win or lose, you start from zero. We are not carrying any baggage"

Stand-in skipper Jasprit Bumrah also opened up on Mohammed Shami's participation in the BGT. "We have finalised our combination. You'll come to know it tomorrow. Jasprit Bumrah spoke about his leadership role for the first Test match, "It is an honour. I have my own style. Virat was different, Rohit was different. and I have my own way. It is a privilege. I don't take it as a position. I love taking responsibility"
