Going into the last innings of the Ashes fifth Test, Broad has taken 602 Test wickets for England. He surpassed the 600-wicket mark during Ashes 2023 fourth Test.
Broad will retire as the fifth-highest wicket-taker in Test cricket. He is behind Muttiah Muralitharan (800), Shane Warne (708), James Anderson (690) and Anil Kumble (619).
He has taken 845 wickets for England across formats – the second-highest after James Anderson (977 wickets).
Stuart Broad’s bowling has always been a threat for Australia in the Ashes series. He has aggregated 151 scalps, the most wickets by an England bowler in Ashes. He also mentioned while announcing his retirement that this is the series he wanted to end his career with.
