The Australian cricket fraternity have come together to join hands with UNICEF in order to help with donations towards India's battle against Covid-19

The coronavirus cases in the country have become a serious issue. The emerging Covid-19 cases in the country also saw them make their way to the IPL. The IPL 2021 season was indefinitely postponed after coronavirus cases emerged among certain staff and players belonging to IPL franchises such as Kolkata Knight Riders, Chennai Super Kings and Sunrisers Hyderabad.

India saw a record rise in Covid-19 deaths with 4,205 fresh fatalities, while 3,48,421 new infections were reported as of May 12, according to the Union Health Ministry data updated on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, many cricketers foreign and domestic, have come forward to help India during these tough times via donations. Many Australian cricketers were part of that list.
Now, in another move to help India during the Covid-19 pandemic, Australian cricketers Pat Cummins, Brett Lee, Ellyse Perry, Alyssa Healy, Alex Blackwell, Josh Hazlewood, Mitchell Starc, Meg Lanning, Michael Hussey, Steve Smith, Allan Border, Marnus Labuschagne and Rachael Haynes have joined hands with UNICEF in India's fight against Covid-19. The mentioned Australian cricketers were seen in the video posted by UNICEF Australia on their Twitter account.
The message in the video reads, "India is recording four new Covid-19 cases every second. There is not enough oxygen to go around. These are the most deadly days of the pandemic so far. Coronavirus is devastating communities across the country. The situation is heartbreaking. In Times of crisis we come together. We are throwing our support behind UNICEF's India Crisis Appeal. Their teams are on the ground right now delivering emergency supplies to the vulnerable. No one can do everything, but everyone can do something. Join us by clicking the link below. Cricketers, past and present, such as Pat Cummins, Brett Lee, Virat Kohli, Rishabh Pant, Hardik and Krunal Pandya, Shikhar Dhawan, Jaydev Unadkat, Nicholas Pooran have donated towards Covid-19 relief work.
