With just 18 Tests under his belt in over a decade of international cricket, Raina knows it’s a perfect opportunity at hand to improve his credentials in the longer format. “I am confident of making a comeback into the Test team. Age is also on my side (Raina will turn 29 on November 27). I know I have to play big innings (to make an impact). Last season too I got to play six first-class matches in which I hit a few centuries. I am working hard on my batting, my process and maintaining my discipline. I learn a lot from my seniors and junior players as well,” Raina told reporters on the eve of the tie at the Wankhede Stadium.

The other goal that Raina is aiming for is his current form. He managed to score just one half-century in the recently-concluded five-ODI series against South Africa.

"Batting at No 5 and 6 (in ODIs) is not easy. You will hit some and miss a few (shots). There will be success and failures (batting in that position). I am looking to spend some time on the wicket now (in Ranji games)," said Raina.
