Opening batter of the Indian women’s cricket team, Smriti Mandhana, has said that the toughest part of being in a bio-bubble is not being able to watch a movie in a cinema hall. Professional sportspersons have been living in and out of bio-bubbles ever since the Covid-19 pandemic struck nearly two years ago, and the Indian women’s cricket team are no different.

“The biggest challenge for me while being in a bio bubble is not being able to switch off in between matches. Sometimes you don’t bat well and you just want to go away from the hotel, and go out for a movie probably. That’s what I find tough to deal with,” Red Bull athlete Mandhana, who has played four Tests, 62 ODIs and 84 T20Is, said during an interview recently.

“Now, you are around your teammates all the time because you are in a bubble. But that also has its advantages because we have gotten closer as teammates and we have each other’s back,” added Mandhana, who scored an impressive century for Melbourne Renegades in the Women’s Big Bash League in Australia last month.
