The Mumbai Cricket Association has kicked off its preparations for the next season by appointing former India pacer Raju Kulkarni as the new Cricket Improvement Committee (CIC) chief. Former India captain Diana Edulji and ex-Mumbai captain Milind Rege were made advisors for women’s and men’s cricket respectively.

The appointments were made at the MCA Apex Council’s emergent meeting on Saturday. Kulkarni was the Mumbai senior team’s chief selector last season. “CIC is nothing new to me. I worked with CIC for almost nine years—with Madhavrao [Apte] and later, during the regime of the ad-hoc committee. This is a very challenging job,” the former Mumbai captain said.
