Kolkata: Pawan Negi, selected as the fourth spinner in India's Asia Cup and World T20 squads, is banking upon his four Indian Premier League seasons to help him deliver when his international debut happens. The 23-year-old left-arm orthodox spinner has shown that he could add a punch as a pinch-hitter.

"I am excited about the possibility of playing my first match for India," the youngster said here yesterday, hours before leaving for the Asia Cup Bangladesh.
Opportunity likely?
With skipper MS Dhoni hinting that all members of the squad will get a game in Bangladesh, Negi is likely to get the opportunity to make a mark at the international level in the days ahead.
Negi was picked up by Delhi Daredevils at the IPL auctions earlier this month for a whopping R8.5 crore after a standout performances for Delhi in domestic limited-overs cricket.
"I have four seasons in the IPL," he reminded when pointed out that he has just three first-class matches under his belt.
With youngsters Jasprit Bumrah and Hardik Patel making the most of opportunities recently, Negi will be hoping it's his time to find a niche for himself in the Indian team.
