Parsee Gymkhana continued their dominance in Mumbai cricket. They defeated hosts and defending champions Islam Gymkhana by seven wickets in the final of the 72nd Salar Jung Invitation T20 Cricket Tournament, organised by Islam Gymkhana under the auspices of the Mumbai Cricket Association, and played at the Islam Gymkhana ground.

Parsee Gymkhana have now clinched a record fourth title in five MCA tournaments this season. They, had suffered a ‘Super Over’ loss to Cricket Club of India in the Bombay Gymkhana-organised RFS Talyarkhan T20 tournament last month.
The architect of Parsee Gymkhana’s victory was opener Aakarshit Gomel, whose dashing knock of an unbeaten, 47-ball 66 (7x4, 2x6), helped the team reach the target of 148 in 18.3 overs. Nikhil Patil Jr cracked a 17-ball unbeaten 32 and along with Gomel took Parsee Gymkhana to a comfortable win. Islam Gymkhana were dismissed for 144. Left-arm spinners Sagar Udeshi (2-12), Shams Mulani (2-34) and medium pacer Aquib Qureshi (2-34) were responsible for restricting Islam Gymkhana to a low total.
