Nikhi Patil Jr’s unbeaten 205 paved the way for Parsee Gymkhana’s 118-run victory over Bombay Gymkhana in a Group C match of the Automotive Manufacturing-74th Police Invitation Shield at Parsee Gymkhana on Sunday.

Parsee Gym totalled 427-8 in 70 overs before Bombay Gymkhana were dismissed for 309 in 58.4 overs. Patil’s knock came off just 159 balls and was studded with 18 fours and 11 sixes. Parag Khanpurkar scored 115 off 112-balls (12x4, 4x6). Siddhant Singh (4-75) was Bombay Gymkhana’s most successful bowler.

In a Group A match, Automotive Manufacturing CC went down fighting to Islam Gymkhana by six runs. Batting first, Islam Gym managed 295-9 in 70 overs with Kaustubh Pawar (67), Salman Ahmed (61) and Salil Agharkar (54*) being the main scorers.
In reply, Automotive Manufacturing CC, riding on a century from Mayur Sanap (124 runs, 135 balls, 11x4, 4x6) and Rugved More’s 55, came close to the target, but their efforts were foiled by Nadeem Shaikh, who claimed 5 for 77.
In another Group A tie, defending champions Payyade Sports Club defeated New Hind SC by 129 runs while in Group D, tournament hosts Mumbai Police Gymkhana recorded a six-wicket victory over Karnatak Sporting Association.
