Opening batsmen Angkrish Raghuvanshi and Musheer Khan are currently representing the Mumbai U-19 and U-25 teams. However, on Sunday, both managed to get some time off from their practice schedule to watch the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) v Delhi Capitals (DC) IPL match at the Brabourne Stadium.

Raghuvanshi, 16, a member of India’s U-19 World Cup-winning side that beat England by four wickets in West Indies in February, said he’s keen to watch KKR all-rounder Andre Russell. “I came to watch Andre Russell’s bowling and batting. He has superb timing and plenty of shots in his armory,” Raghuvanshi told mid-day.

Interestingly, Raghuvanshi’s coach, former India all-rounder Abhishek Nayar, is KKR’s assistant coach. Meanwhile Musheer, 17, whose elder brother Sarfaraz plays for DC, said he wants to watch and learn “how batsmen improvise their shots and spinners bowl tight lengths in crunch situations.”

Raghuvanshi amassed 112 and 20 runs while Musheer’s 14 and 70 helped the Mumbai U-25 team beat Tamil Nadu by an innings and 192 runs in must-win CK Nayudu Trophy last league game in Puducherry on Friday. Both teenagers however, will not be part of the U-25 team’s quarter-final clash against Karnataka in Ahmedabad, beginning on Tuesday. They will instead represent the Mumbai U-19 team in the Cooch Behar Trophy knockout clash against Rajasthan that begins on April 18 in Kolkata.
