Riding on Heinrich Klaasen’s attacking century (67-ball 109, 12x4, 4x6) South Africa outclassed defending champions England by 229 runs at the Wankhede Stadium on Saturday.

When Klaasen registered his fourth ODI century by smashing England pacer Mark Wood's full toss for a four in the 47th over, he celebrated aggressively in front of Wood.

However, Klassen revealed that he expressed his regret to Woods immediately after the game. “I did go and apologise immediately and after the game. He did hit me twice on the foot, which is hurting quite a bit. And it's just pure emotion. And yeah, once again, I'm sorry for him and to the English boys but it's pure emotion that just came out and sometimes it's difficult to control.

"But I did apologise straight away and spoke to him after the game and hopefully from my side, everything is sorted," Klassen said at the post-match press conference on Saturday.
